Ethics of Scientific Publications
When making decisions and resolving potential conflicts, the editorial board of the journal “Construction and Architecture in Azerbaijan” relies on the applicable regulations in force that govern ethical relations among all participants in the publication process, namely, the authors, the editorial board, and the reviewers.
1. Introduction
1.1. The publication of scientific materials in peer-reviewed journals not only facilitates scientific communication but also contributes to the advancement of the respective scientific field. Therefore, it is essential to establish ethical standards of conduct for all parties involved in the journal’s publication -namely, the authors, the editorial board, and the reviewers.
1.2. The institute that publishes the journal not only supports scientific communication but also invests resources and assumes responsibility for ensuring that the published materials comply with contemporary standards.
1.3. The editorial board of the journal undertakes to exercise strict oversight over scientific materials. The content published in the journal serves the advancement of scientific thought and research. The editorial board is responsible for the proper presentation of materials and, in particular, for ensuring adherence to ethical principles in the publication of such materials.
2. Duties of the editor
2.1. Publication Decisions
The editor of the scientific-practical journal “Construction and Architecture in Azerbaijan”, in certain cases in collaboration with the relevant scientific society, is personally and independently responsible for making decisions regarding publication. Decisions on publication must be based on the authenticity and scientific significance of the submitted materials. In resolving disputes related to defamation, copyright infringement, or plagiarism, the editor consults with the editorial board and makes appropriate decisions. In making publication decisions, the editor may consult with other editors, reviewers, or officials.
2.2. Integrity
The editor must evaluate the intellectual content of manuscripts without regard to the authors’ race, gender, religious beliefs, origin, or nationality.
2.3. Conflict of Interests
If there is a conflict of interest with relevant institutions or authors regarding a submitted article, reviewers may withdraw their candidacy before reviewing the article and after consulting with the editor or other members of the editorial board.
2.4. Confidentiality
The editor and the editorial board of “Construction and Architecture in Azerbaijan” must not disclose the content of manuscripts to reviewers or other scientific consultants unless necessary.
2.5. Oversight of Publication
If there is well-founded evidence that the claims or results presented in the submitted article are erroneous, the editor must halt the publication process and take measures to clarify or correct the materials.
2.6. Participation in Research and Collaboration
The editor takes appropriate measures in response to objections raised concerning reviewed or published materials. These measures generally involve communication and joint discussion of the complaint or objection with the authors of the manuscript, and may also include engagement with relevant organizations and research institutions.

The editorial board does not charge authors any fees for the preparation, placement, or publication of materials; publication in the journal is free of charge for authors.
Uncited Materials and Plagiarism
The editorial board of “Construction and Architecture in Azerbaijan” may check submitted articles using an anti-plagiarism system. In cases where uncited materials are identified, the editorial board makes decisions in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
Pre-Publication and Post-Publication Policy
Upon submission, the author must confirm that the article has not been published or accepted for publication in another scientific journal. When citing articles published in “Construction and Architecture in Azerbaijan”, a link to the journal’s official website must be provided. Articles that were previously published only on the authors’ personal websites with no affiliation to other publishers may be considered by the editorial board.

The journal is funded by the resources of the founding institution.
